I don't shop very often, but when I do, I usually splurge since it'll most likely be a while until I buy more things (clothes, jewelry or otherwise). I tend to land on the extremes when it comes to shopping. Either I buy nothing at all or I buy everything at once. It's literally that bad. I've been itching to do a closet purge and actually have clothes which I'll wear and that will fit my minimalistic, monochromatic ideal style in my head, so these few picks were geared towards that.
The place where I dealt the most damage, but also have the most items from is Urban Outfitters, so I'll just start with them. Mind you, I didn't pay full price for any of these. Urban recently had their huge annual 70% off sale and I decided to nab some things. While it's getting closer to fall, it's always summer in California whether I like it or not. Now that college is done and I have more time, my friends and I have been planning on hanging out more at the beach. So, this gave me the perfect excuse to grab a new swimsuit. I've always been into the longline, corset type bikini top and the high waisted bottoms. The rust color of the bottoms is beautiful and I'm a sucker for navy. I wish the black bottoms were on sale because those would've been the first into my cart. With that said, I don't regret throwing some sort of color into my life. The next item on the list are these bras from Urban. All of them are extremely thin and offer no support whatsoever. Anyone with a cup size larger than a B or stretching even to a C should not buy these bras if they want the lifted look. I'm a 38D and these did nothing for my boobs but I knew that when I bought them. I actually got them more for lounging around and wanting to wear a bra without the underwire digging into my ribs. They're absolutely comfortable, I give Urban that. Last but not least, I bought a bunch of rings. I've been really digging the bohemian, witchy look of wearing rings all across the fingers. Think of this as the start to my collection.
If there's one word to describe my style, it's comfort or maybe even lazy. The shoes from Aldo were a pure happy coincidence. I went to the mall with my friends to buy a new pair of jeans (WHICH I LOVE BECAUSE THEY'RE SO HIGH THEY REACH MY RIBS AND IT'S PERFECT) and wandered into Aldo who happened to be having a 50% off sale on some of their shoes. I saw these black sandals and fell in love. They're comfortable and so easy and minimalistically stylish.
Going along with the bras theme, I bought two sports bras from Forever 21. I loved the crisscross back detailing on both and I thought buying activewear would get me in the mindset to actually start working out (it hasn't). The black one has the caged back which is reminiscent of the Brandy Melville bralettes. While I'm sure I could not fit a BM bra, the F21 was a lucky dupe. I also exchanged some other F21 clothes for this ribbed rust v-neck dress. It's so comfortable and so nice. I'm trying to convince myself to wear more dresses given how hot it is.
The last purchase (ironically being my first purchase) is the American Apparel ribbed dress. I picked this up during one of AA's sales too. It's so nice and comfortable and figure flattering. I already want it in the other colors. If only clothes at AA didn't cost a chopped off head though.
From this point on, I'm going to put myself on a no buy until I find a job that can actually support this ridiculous spending habit, and if I make another haul post, I give the internet the full rights to shoot me in the foot.
